Peripheral

A visual frenzy in a delightful, bite-sized 15-minute short film. A Bay Area photographer, Gabi, struggles with the lack of umph in his overlooked work and becomes obsessed with Onyx, a renowned street muralist. While reactions to Onyx's work are so visceral that people bleed from their eyes, they are still reactions — drawing Gabi in to the point of stalking.

Stop Request

A film by Felix Milionis, Jean-Pierre Dreamer, and Lucas Havlin. The project set out to ride every MUNI line in San Francisco within 24 hours — buses, subways, and cable cars — capturing the city through its transit system.

Because every line connects to another, mapping the most efficient route took two months of planning. We chose a starting point and traced the web from there, figuring out what linked where and when. Some lines operate only during narrow windows — like the 714, which runs from 4:05 a.m. to 6:05 a.m. — meaning our journey began at 2:30 a.m. aboard the 91 Owl, alongside a plethora of early-morning characters.

What was predicted to take a full day ultimately lasted 19 hours. Many central lines intersect closely, allowing us to hop off one and jump onto another in quick succession. From the beginning, we planned a cinematic finale: the 25 line, running between the Transit Center and Treasure Island.

The score by Lucas Havlin is built from the system itself: Clipper card taps, stop alerts, and the mechanical hum of MUNI in motion.
